Requirements

Certificate/Diploma Radiography required and Associate's Degree Radiography
Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience in radiology technology 2-3 years preferred
Must effectively use interpersonal skills to deal with patients and fellow employees who may be under physical and/or emotional stress. Maintains composure at all times.
Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, principles of radiation physics, ALARA, radiographic equipment and positioning.
Must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs (i.e., linen, supplies, patients).
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and infection control situations.
Displays a positive attitude and professional appearance; exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs of the department and MGB.

Nice To Haves

Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
Board eligible through the American Board of Radiology.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment while following established safety and imaging protocols.
Explain exams, procedures, and safety expectations to patients in a clear, compassionate, and patient-centered manner.
Confirm patient identity, exam orders, and relevant patient history to ensure accurate imaging and documentation.
Operate a variety of imaging equipment, including portable, fluoroscopic, and diagnostic radiology equipment as needed.
Adjust imaging equipment and technical settings appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images safely and accurately.
Ensure images are properly labeled, documented, and successfully transmitted through PACS systems.
Collaborate effectively with radiologists, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to support exceptional patient care.
Work primarily within a designated radiography area (Inpatient, Outpatient, or Emergency Department), with opportunities to support additional locations or MGB sites as needed following appropriate training.
Contribute both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment while assisting with additional responsibilities as assigned.
