About The Position

OrthoCarolina is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist for their Gastonia Urgent Care office. This role involves providing diagnostic quality radiographs while ensuring patient and employee safety through appropriate radiation protection. The position requires adherence to departmental policies, effective patient communication, and maintaining a clean and stocked examination environment. The technologist will also assist with patient flow and transportation as needed.

Requirements

Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens/GE/Philips).
Proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
Observes safety and security procedures.

Current CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants.
Protect employees and patients from unnecessary radiation using appropriate protection standards.
Demonstrate competency in positioning for all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm understanding, and address questions or concerns.
Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations.
Provide patient radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
Log radiological procedures completed, process charges, and complete related paperwork using computer equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies.
Ensure compliance with all OrthoCarolina policies and procedures.
Assist with the transportation of patients between examination modules and the Radiology department.
Assist with patient flow in the examination modules as directed by a supervisor.
