The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging upon the order of a qualified physician, following the policies, procedures, and protocols of the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Radiology Department. The role uses equipment that produces ionizing radiation, including fluoroscopic, digital, and routine radiographic rooms, sometimes in combination with computed radiography (CR) technology. Depending on the assigned location, the technologist may rotate through an ambulatory surgery center to provide radiographic support using a C-arm or portable unit and perform fluoroscopic examinations. The technologist uses the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) for clerical processes and the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for image management. The role supports image quality, equipment maintenance and quality control, radiation safety, patient communication, and accurate documentation. The technologist also participates in training and continuing education, maintains applicable credentials, and may perform other duties when training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by a supervisor.
