About The Position

OrthoCarolina is seeking a Part-Time Radiology Technologist for their Huntersville OUC office. The role involves providing diagnostic quality radiographs while ensuring patient and employee safety from radiation. The company emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to making lives better, with a large network of care locations and professionals. This position is scheduled for Monday and Friday evenings, from 5:15 pm to 9:00 pm. The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing various radiological procedures, communicating with patients, maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting with patient flow and transportation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants.
  • Protect employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.
  • Demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provide patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Log radiological procedures completed, process charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and stock necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
  • Comply with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.
  • Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
