About The Position

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Radiology Technologist to join their team in a vibrant, coastal community. This role involves performing radiographic procedures according to established professional and departmental standards, ensuring optimal examinations for interpretation and patient care. The position is located at Rehoboth Surgery Hospital.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Capability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekends when required.

  • Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
  • DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license
  • DE LICENSED - Licensed in state of DE
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification (American Heart Association)
  • Associates Degree in related field

  • Recent hospital experience preferred as a Radiologist Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles and theory, anatomy and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate technique and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
  • Adheres to department policies and protocols ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
  • Assists in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles.
  • Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination.
  • Explains procedures to patients/families and answers questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.
  • Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action.
  • Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Tracks patients according to department procedures and identifies and corrects errors.
  • Maintains exposure reading within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits.
  • Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
  • Demonstrates patient safety in the department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient monitoring.
  • Reports, documents and corrects any adverse, unsafe or unusual conditions.
  • Maintains an orderly, safe and clean environment.
  • Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and has required supplies readily available for procedures.
  • Removes supplies nearing expiration from patient care areas.
  • Operates imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Demonstrates the initiative to stay abreast of technological changes and updates.
  • Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings.
