About The Position

Under the direction of the Radiologist and/or Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Manager and/or Chief Technologist, the technologist responsibly performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative. Demonstrates the ability to understand the unique infant/child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relative to growth, assessment and development of the patients. Assumes responsibility for performance in designated areas or procedures as required. This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (full accreditation means the training program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized accrediting agency), in the pertinent modality for which the employee is being hired.
  • Successful and valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency in the specific modality for which the employee was hired — or registry-eligible, with valid registration/certification obtained within four (4) months of hire date.
  • Modality-specific advanced level registry must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support CPR (CT CPRBLS).
  • Must have one of the following: registry or certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT), the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CT NMT), or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RG ARDMS).

Nice To Haves

  • After one year of satisfactory performance as a validly registered/certified technologist in the specific modality for which the employee was hired, the employee will be reclassified to the Imaging Technologist classification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all routine diagnostic procedures independently, including but not limited to: routine, fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs, and limited specials such as Myelograms, Venograms, and ERCPs.
  • Understand the unique infant/child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relative to growth, assessment and development of the patients.
  • Assume responsibility for performance in designated areas or procedures as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and arrive at the hospital within a 30-minute response time.
