About The Position

This Radiologic Technologist position at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR, is a Full-Time role with an Evening Shift (4) 10 Hour shifts. It includes a $6,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates. The role involves shift charge responsibilities such as managing exam workflow, staff training, addressing equipment and safety concerns, and coordinating with multiple departments. The technologist will also perform imaging examinations using sophisticated equipment, considering patient-specific and age-related needs. This includes utilizing clinical knowledge for proper positioning, radiation dose calibration, and patient treatment to produce high-quality images while adhering to ALARA principles for minimal radiation exposure.

Requirements

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Oregon Radiographer License upon hire, Or Oregon Radiographer Temporary License upon hire.
• National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• New graduates must have OBMI temporary license and obtain permanent license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging examinations according to physicians' orders, utilizing a variety of sophisticated imaging equipment.
• Take into account individual patients unique and/or age-related needs.
• Utilize clinical knowledge and judgment in regard for proper positioning factors, radiation dose calibration of technique and patient treatment needed to produce optimal high-quality images.
• Perform all examinations with minimal radiation exposure to patient and operator with ALARA awareness.
• Manage exam workflow.
• Train staff.
• Address equipment and safety concerns.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments within the facility.
