About The Position

UP Health System Portage, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Radiology Technologist to provide imaging services and contribute to patient care. The role is full-time at 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, with varied shifts. Eligible external candidates may receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and employees may be eligible for a $1,000 Hot Jobs referral bonus. The technologist reviews patient histories and physician orders, explains procedures and equipment to patients, prepares imaging equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, positions patients, and performs imaging procedures. The role also includes following safety standards, conducting equipment quality-control procedures, identifying and addressing image-quality issues, troubleshooting or reporting equipment malfunctions, and entering, transmitting, and reporting scan results.

Requirements

Current ARRT Certification.
CPR/BLS Certification.
Graduate of an AMA-approved school.

Responsibilities

Review patient history and physician orders.
Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to support understanding and cooperation.
Prepare equipment and supplies and select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
Implement safety standards and perform appropriate equipment quality-control procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or report them as necessary.
Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
Analyze imaging results and identify image-quality issues.
Take appropriate action to resolve image-quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
