Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate from a two-year AMA approved radiologic technology program
  • 1 year experience as a Radiology Technologist
  • Reg Technologist (R)
  • Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

  • Performs and/or assists with various types of radiologic procedures, following protocols established by radiologists.
  • Prepares, maintains, and operates radiographic equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Follows appropriate radiation safety guidelines.
  • Produces quality radiographs for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Takes measures to maintain optimal departmental operations.
  • Follows procedures related to registration and EHR use.
  • Explains procedures to patients, positions patients and equipment, develops films, and maintains and operates specialized radiologic equipment in accordance with care standards.
  • Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment that is centered on the needs of the patients, caregivers and others demonstrating concern for the patient's privacy, comfort, and emotional state.
  • Treats patient with consideration to age, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
