About The Position

Performing diagnostic quality imaging procedures for our inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department population allows for participation as a member of an energetic team that proactively supports delivery of safe patient care and services. This department is tailored for those who are interested in utilizing technology to aid in caring for children in need of radiologic services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
  • Program Student in the final semester or graduate of a formal program in Radiologic Technology. (required)
  • CRT - California Radiologic Technologist License - CDPH - California Department of Public Health within 90 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • Minimum six (6) months Radiology training/school (required)

Responsibilities

  • Participates in performing a variety of standard, specialty and complex diagnostic radiographic procedures with accuracy.
  • Provides technologist support involving responsibly administering ionizing radiation using fluoroscopy, computed and direct radiography (including the use of mobile c-arm and x-ray equipment) to assist in achieving superior quality studies under a variety of conditions with technologist supervision.
  • Pursues with the goal of demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and radiation physics and image production.
  • Engaging in clinical support in order to assist with demonstrating appropriate use of ALARA which involves support with technologist use of minimal technique parameters, collimation, and correctly positioning patients.
  • Serves as a clinical resource support for Radiology.
  • Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in Environment of Care.
