About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, Virginia, is hiring a Radiology Technologist Student Extern for a PRN/flexi, rotating shift position. This role involves performing chest, abdominal, extremity, and spine radiological imaging studies of patients under the direction of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include operating equipment, developing films, and preparing patient rooms and equipment under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. Clinical support duties include documentation, IV lines, and lab work.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Graduate or equivalent
• Currently enrolled and have completed 2 semesters of formal education that is accredited by the ARRT (for Rad Assistant applicants seeking student technologist roles)
• 2 years patient care management experience (for non-student tech roles)
• IV Therapy Certification within 90 days of hire
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs chest, abdominal, extremity, and spine radiological imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician.
• Operates equipment, develops films, and prepares patient room and equipment under direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist.
• Provides clinical support including documentation and clinical duties such as IV lines and lab work.
