This position performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. The technologist operates equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and relevant guidelines, ensuring the quality of images is satisfactory for clinical purposes. The role involves ensuring accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures, conducting image operations according to provider requests and other technical factors, and implementing radiation safety guidelines and proper radiation protection practices. Excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures is expected. The ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system is necessary. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned is also required. Sanford Rural Health Network Facility sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. The role may also perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and be aware of general radiology protocols. Depending on the facility, responsibilities may include mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures. Occupational Medicine clinics may have expanded job duties including performing routing testing, sampling, and other technical services to support Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services, such as drug screens, breath alcohol testing, and audiograms, as well as administrative and/or clinical support.
