About The Position

Performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level under the supervision of a technologist. Performs a variety of technical procedures up to the level of documented competency, using independent judgment and initiative. The role supports patient care, imaging operations, documentation, radiation safety, and department supply needs. The position may also assist with preparing contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in good standing in a radiology technologist program.
• American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and accurately select anatomic and technical parameters to perform imaging.
• Prepare for and assist the physician in imaging procedures.
• Complete required procedure documentation, including regulatory, billing protocol, and image distribution documentation.
• Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
• Assist the Radiology Technologist with patient comfort and needs, patient flow, and documentation of clinical information.
• Maintain adequate supplies for efficient section and department operations.
• May assist with preparation of contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
