This role is responsible for producing high-quality X-ray images in an inpatient setting by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. The technologist verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. A sound understanding of human anatomy, x-ray positioning, and the use of immobilization devices is essential. The role involves receiving training and regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks. The technologist takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies, completing all associated paper and computer work, and providing high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
