Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use of immobilization devices when warranted. This is an entry-level position for Radiologic Technologists new to the URMC Imaging Department who require training and direct supervision. The role involves orientation to departmental infrastructure, policies, protocols, workflows, procedures, and routines. Technologists must demonstrate progress towards proficient and competent performance of required tasks. Success requires independent responsibility for performing general section studies safely and efficiently, completing all associated paper and computer work, and providing high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. Advancement is based on departmental need and requires approval from the Imaging Sciences Clinical Director of Operations in collaboration with Human Resources.
