About The Position

Applies prescribed ionizing radiation procedures at a technical level for diagnostic purposes under the prescription of a physician, using ALARA (as low as reasonably acceptable) principles. This role involves performing complex examinations, controlling electronic equipment, analyzing patient conditions, selecting technical factors, and assisting radiologists and with basic surgery cases. Urgent-care clinic duties may also be included, such as limited registration, rooming patients, and taking vital signs and history.

Requirements

A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration or Registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 45 days of employment
Current WA State Radiologic Technologist licensure
Current Healthcare Provider BLS – American Heart Association by start date

Responsibilities

Consistently performs complex examinations and procedures, including injecting contrast media under the direct supervision of a Radiologist.
Sets, adjusts and controls a variety of electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic examinations, using ALARA principles.
Analyzes patient's general body size, physical condition and age in order to accurately apply radiographic procedures, using ALARA principles.
Measures and selects proper electronics and technical factors such as kilovolts, milliamperes and exposure time, using ALARA principles.
Assists radiologists during fluoroscopy occasionally.
Assists with basic surgery cases occasionally.
Under the direction of a physician, and with appropriate licensure, may inject contrast material and/or medication.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Urgent-care clinic duties may include limited registration, rooming of patients, and taking of vital signs and history as needed.
