Radiology Technologist I - Per Diem
About The Position
Beloit Health System is looking to add a Per Diem Radiology Technologist to our Team! This role provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. The technologist performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician. They apply principles of radiation protection and evaluate radiographs for technical quality. The role involves operating diagnostic imaging equipment, selecting and/or calculating exposure factors according to age-specific guidelines, and ensuring proper documentation of exams. Additionally, the technologist performs quality control checks, maintains accurate and confidential patient records, and supervises, assists, instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology and AART registered.
- Licensed in the State of Wisconsin.
- CPR Certification within 90 days of hire
- Self-motivated and able to be flexible.
- Ability to problem-solve and function independently.
- Must adhere to established to regulatory agencies, Beloit Health System, and department policies, rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician.
- Performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician.
- Applies principles of radiation protection and evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
- Performs diagnostic radiographic services.
- Operates diagnostic imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Selects and/or calculates exposure factors according to age specific guidelines.
- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Evaluates radiography for technical quality and patient identification.
- Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
- Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required.
- Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, repeat/reject information, quality improvement, etc.
- Performs quality control checks as required.
- Maintains accurate patient records and file with confidentiality.
- Supervises, assists, instructs and communicates effectively with radiology students.
