Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current radiation operator certificate in state of practice.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
  • BCLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Review patient history and physician’s orders.
  • Educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice as ordered.
  • Monitor patient’s condition and respond to changes as appropriate.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment; troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results, identify quality issues, and take corrective action including repositioning or repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
  • Provide direct support in meeting departmental service level.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/unit as needed.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
