About The Position

This position is eligible for an annual bonus of up to $25,000!! Performs routine diagnostic procedures utilizing knowledge of radiation/imaging scientific principles, technical skills and well developed problem solving capabilities. Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies. Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures. Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure. Properly and safely positions the patient for maximum diagnostic yield. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonable achievable) standards. Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisor. Follows the clinic exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens. May be required by their manager/lead to perform other duties which may be necessary or desirable. Enters appropriate information into PACS to ensure proper insurance payments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved radiological program.
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists AART(R) and OBMI.
  • Current state permit/license as general diagnostic radiographer and CPR Certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 6 mos experience in radiology imaging modalities is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
