About The Position

At Meritus Health’s Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic, imaging plays a critical role in diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery. As a Radiologic Technologist in this specialized setting, you’ll perform diagnostic imaging procedures focused on musculoskeletal conditions for patients of all ages. You’ll work closely with orthopedic providers to deliver high-quality radiographs that support timely, accurate care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role is ideal for a technologist who values precision, patient interaction, and collaborative care. You’ll apply advanced imaging techniques, maintain equipment, and ensure a smooth experience for patients navigating orthopedic concerns.

Requirements

Completion of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required
Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy
Proficiency in radiographic techniques and digital imaging equipment
Strong understanding of anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety principles
Ability to prepare and administer contrast medications safely
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as a radiographer preferred

Responsibilities

Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care
Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and clean radiographic areas to ensure readiness and safety
Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed
Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately
Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports
Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed
Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency
