About The Position

Ascension Alexian Brothers is seeking a full-time Radiology Tech for their Diagnostic Radiology department. This position involves working evening shifts, every other weekend, and limited call shifts. The role requires accurately positioning patients, setting exposure factors, administering contrast media, and monitoring patient condition during procedures. The technician will adhere to radiation safety guidelines, ensure high-quality image submission to PACS, and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Limited Radiology Technician credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Temporary ARRT license allowed in lieu of permanent license.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Accurately position patients, set exposure factors, and administer contrast media.
Monitor patient condition during procedures and promptly report any abnormal activity.
Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines to minimize patient exposure.
Ensure high-quality image submission to PACS with accurate patient data, and maintain a clean and orderly department.
Be available to work mid and evening shifts, every other weekend, and limited call shifts.
