Hillcrest Hospital Pryor is a 48-bed acute care hospital that provides a range of health care services to the community, including emergency services, urology, ENT, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery and wound care.

Requirements

  • Current student of or a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology and Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible.
  • Thorough knowledge of x-ray equipment, anatomy and positioning.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously and maintain a helpful attitude towards patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
  • Radiology Tech training
  • ARRT or ARRT Registry eligible (within one year of hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Operating the x-ray rooms, c-arms, and portables in a safe and proficient manner.
  • Transportation of patients, handling telephone calls for scheduling patients, answering questions related to reports of exams.
  • Handling patient support equipment, i.e. I.V. pumps, O2, etc.
  • Cleaning rooms and equipment and ordering supplies.
  • Assisting physicians with invasive procedures and administering basic C.P.R.
  • Assisting the supervisor in the daily operation of the Imaging department.
  • Maintaining a high standard of imaging with a minimum of repeats.
  • Coordinating patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
  • Helping move patients when needed.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of contrast media injections and reactions.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the department.
  • Providing care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possessing the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
