About The Position

Performs radiographic procedures to patients in accordance with departmental policy. Provides a variety of technical exams that require independent judgement to apply ionized radiation for radiologic diagnoses. Responsible for on-call procedures when indicated. Must be able to do surgery cases and pain management.

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.
• Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology.
• Current Arizona Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Certified Radiology Tech (CRT), CPR.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum six-(6) months clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs general radiology procedures for patients of all age groups served.
• Uses radiology equipment with general operating procedure i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving.
• Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment.
• Functions as a patient advocate. Adequate assessment and explanation of procedure to patient before testing occurs.
• Processes billing/charging with computer systems.
• Identifies, proposes solutions and assists in implementation of ideas for improvement in patient care and departmental / facility operations.
• Identifies opportunities and implements strategies to decrease waste in supplies and equipment.
• Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer etc.
• Maintains appropriate communication with radiologists or Cardiologist.
• Adjusts work schedule to departmental needs.
• Uses policy and procedure manuals and other reference material to ensure proper course of action.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
