About The Position

Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, TX, a 150-bed hospital, is seeking a Radiologic Technologist. The medical center has earned a Leapfrog “A” Safety Grade, the Platinum Award for quality from ScionHealth, and certifications as a Chest Pain Center and Level IV Trauma facility. It offers comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services. The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This involves safely positioning patients, selecting technical factors, and producing high-quality images according to physician orders, protocols, and regulatory standards. The role requires professional judgment for image quality, patient safety, and comfort, adhering to radiation safety and quality control. The technologist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) graduate of an accredited program of medical radiography
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice Upon Hire
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire
  • BCLS required

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician’s orders
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Prepares equipment and supplies
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results
  • Other duties as assigned
