About The Position

The Radiology Technician maintains and uses equipment and supplies necessary to demonstrate portions of the human body with high-quality radiographic images for diagnostic purposes. This is a full-time, year round position offering medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as 401K, PTO, and continuing education funds. THE DETAILS OF THE JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interviews patients to explain specific radiologic procedures and ensure patient safety. Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by radiologist. Use patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff. Monitor patient safety and comfort. View images of area being scanned to endure quality of images, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards. Collect and maintain records of patients examined, examinations performed, patient medical histories, views taken, or technical factors used. Scan X-RAY reports and tasks sign off requests to the physician; assist physician in obtaining exams to view in patient rooms. Perform insurance pre-certification for scans. Coordinate imaging activities such as compact disc (CD) and OR/operative films. Manage outside studies and operate digital picture archiving communications systems. Meet the Company’s expectations as described in the VSON Policies and Practices. Maintain confidentiality of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with company Policies and State and Federal laws, including OHSA and HIPAA regulations. Perform job in accordance with all company safety practices. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, and of common medical safety hazards and precautions for X-Ray rooms.
  • Ability to perform written and verbal communication in English.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) license as an RT required
  • Decisions and actions made on the job affect safety and the levels of service provided.
  • Has an impact on patient experience by serving as a representative of the company.
  • This position is on a team or acts as an individual contributor and does not supervise employees.
  • One year work experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
