About The Position

The Radiology Tech (REG) conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients under the direction of a qualified physician, within the scope of demonstrated competency. This role also involves performing Radiology Tech II responsibilities, which may include interventional, dental, or OR imaging. Key duties include patient positioning for correct anatomy/pathology demonstration, operating radiation-producing equipment and electronic radiology systems, preparing patient rooms, equipment, and medications, and maintaining adequate supply inventory. The technician is responsible for explaining examinations and procedures to patients and completing all necessary departmental documentation. Military radiologic technologist training will be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry for grandfathered staff at the time of merger.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree Radiologic Sciences OR Trade School Certificate
  • Certification/Licensure: ARRT
  • 1 year of experience
  • Grandfathered staff at time of merger with military radiologic technologist training will be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry

Responsibilities

  • Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician
  • Performs Radiology Tech II responsibilities with addition of one of the following: interventional, dental or OR
  • Positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology
  • Operation of radiation producing equipment
  • Operation of the electronic radiology systems
  • Preparation of patient room/equipment/medications
  • Maintains adequate supply inventory
  • Explains examination and procedure to patients
  • Completes departmental documentation
