About The Position

The Outpatient Radiology Technologist provides diagnostic imaging services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing high-quality images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
  • Montana Radiologic Technologist license.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.
  • One (1) year of experience; clinical internship experience may be considered toward the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations as ordered by licensed healthcare providers following established imaging protocols.
  • Produces diagnostic-quality images while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Verifies patient identity, obtains pertinent clinical information, and prepares patients for imaging procedures.
  • Operates radiographic equipment and imaging systems in accordance with department policies, manufacturer guidelines, and radiation safety standards.
  • Maintains accurate documentation required for interpretation, reporting, archiving, retrieval, and billing of imaging studies.
  • Retrieves and reviews written orders and related health information to ensure appropriate imaging services are provided.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and supports departmental performance and quality metrics.
  • Maintains imaging equipment and reports operational concerns or equipment issues as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all applicable regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and radiation safety requirements.
  • May be asked to assist outpatient clinics with ancillary tasks when operationally appropriate.
  • Collaborates effectively with providers, clinic staff, and care team members to support efficient patient care and clinic operations.
