About The Position

Garden City Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is a state-of-the-art community teaching hospital with more than 300 licensed beds. The Radiology Tech II performs imaging procedures in accordance with department protocols and serves as a primary point of contact for customers seeking imaging services. The role may oversee a radiology area or staff when the Manager or Director is absent, and may handle scheduling and supply and equipment needs for assigned subdepartments. This position is per diem with a variable shift.

Requirements

• Hold state-required licensure and fluoroscopy permit, as applicable.
• Meet one of the specified modality qualification pathways: appropriate national certifications in two modalities; certification in one modality plus bone density, IR special procedures, or unregistered CT duties; or certification in one modality plus Student Coordinator duties.
• Maintain current BCLS (AHA) certification.
• Be familiar with state and federal regulations.
• Have proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of acute clinical radiography experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic, CT, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, or special procedures according to department protocols.
• Serve as the first-line interface with customers and help meet their imaging needs.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality control activities.
• Assist in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program.
• Oversee the radiology area and/or staff in the Manager’s or Director’s absence.
• Maintain department supplies.
• Promote teamwork and good customer service.
• Schedule for assigned subdepartments and maintain their supplies and equipment.
• Process and transmit images to PACS.
