About The Position

Capital Health is seeking a Radiology Tech Assistant Per Diem to join their team. This role commits to providing a respectful, caring, attentive, and efficient patient-centered experience to all patients, family members, visitors, providers, and co-workers. The assistant will remain competent in assisting with imaging exams, assist with diagnostic exams, perform clerical duties including record keeping, and maintain high-quality services. Effective communication with patients, families, and care providers is essential. The role involves interacting with staff and co-workers in a manner that promotes positive working relationships. The assistant will check orders for complete information and appropriateness, schedule exams as needed, and obtain sufficient information to determine procedure timing. Adherence to established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements is expected. The role also involves coordinating work assignments, setting up imaging rooms, ensuring proper isolation and precautions, verifying patients, providing customer service, explaining studies, and providing information and resources to patients and families. Safe patient transport and transfers using appropriate devices are required, along with patient positioning for comfort and modesty. The assistant will exhibit a caring attitude, professional and ethical conduct, and maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked area. Accurate recording of patient exams, following proper billing procedures, rotating within departments for coverage, and notifying staff of equipment malfunctions are also key responsibilities. Adherence to corporate and departmental policies and SOPs, and performing other assigned duties are expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • No previous experience required.
  • AHA BLS.
  • Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic life support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnostic imaging exams.
  • Perform clerical duties including record keeping.
  • Maintain high quality services.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care providers.
  • Check orders for complete information and appropriateness.
  • Schedule exams as needed.
  • Obtain sufficient information to determine procedure timing.
  • Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with coordinating work assignments to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Set up imaging room to coincide with the scheduled examination.
  • Ensure room includes the use of proper isolations and precautions when needed.
  • Verify patients with patient name and date of birth.
  • Provide quality customer service and explain all studies to patient in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide information and resources to patient and family.
  • Safely transport patients from location to location utilizing appropriate mode of transport and proper “hand-off” communication tools to receiving departments and other locations.
  • Safely transfer patient to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs utilizing multiple lifting devices.
  • Position the patient, ensuring patient comfort and modesty.
  • Exhibit caring attitude when relating to patients.
  • Engage in professional and ethical conduct.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked area.
  • Accurately record patient exams and follow proper billing procedures.
  • Rotate within departments for proper coverage and support as required.
  • Notify appropriate staff when equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
