About The Position

This role focuses on providing administrative and business support to the organization in order to achieve operational goals. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following General Administration duties: Produces documents, collects, records, sorts and files information, handles mail, prepares routine reports, makes travel arrangements, arranges appointments, responds to inquiries, data entry, and operates office equipment. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non-clinical) operating in a “hands on” environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures, and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation. This position performs support services in the Imaging Services area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
One (1) year of applicable medical or patient care experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Clerical skills.
General knowledge of RIS and PACs system.
Ability to apply safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety.
Ability to apply principles of Universal Precautions to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organisms.

Nice To Haves

Some college or Associate’s degree.
Three (3) years of applicable medical or patient care experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge in area(s) of assisting the Radiologic Technologist in the performance of diagnostic radiology procedures.
Assist radiologists during Fluoroscopy procedures. Obtain clinical history for radiology exams, educating patients, changing patients etc.
Assist with workflow to optimize efficiency and reduce delays.
Perform the following patient care procedures: Make basic observations and report them to staff; handle body fluids using universal precautions, assist with bedpans, emesis basins, etc. as needed; assist in lifting, positioning, and ambulating patients.
Apply knowledge and principles of Universal Precautions to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organism.
Enter orders, scan paperwork, escort patients to and from the exam room(s) as needed into RIS and PACs system .
Facilitate with patient transporters and may transport patients as needed.
Identify patient verbally by name and DOB and checks ID bracelet.
