About The Position

The Technical Aide will be responsible for providing support for the technologists. The aide will assist in transport, paperwork, calling for outside films or test results and data entry. Provide assistance in preparing the patient for the exam specific to each modality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. This position also requires the use and understanding of a PC.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • General computer skills are necessary.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Excellent customer relation and communication skills necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • medical terminology preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Excels in effective and positive communications.
  • Uses skills to bolster the organization/ department image.
  • Reviews the daily schedule for each modality.
  • Greet the patient in the registration area at their scheduled appointment time.
  • Follows AIDET guidelines in all patient interactions.
  • Notification of the patient’s arrival is immediately communicated to the technologist.
  • Patient is informed if there will be a delay in their exam start.
  • Contacts other facilities for outside films and reports.
  • Provide escort for the patient to the correct modality.
  • Assists the technologists, nursing staff or Radiologist in preparing the patient for their exam.
  • Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available, resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.
  • Completes clerical functions including copying and faxing.
  • Makes effective use of telephone, fax and electronic mail systems.
  • Supply management duties are performed in accordance with the department budget and predetermined par levels. This would include inventory control, reorder, and stocking of the patient care areas.
  • Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS/MRS (if applicable) modules appropriate to their job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates proper telephone techniques and etiquette in accordance with the department and hospital guidelines as it relates to answering phones, directing calls, and taking complete and accurate messages.
  • Maintain competence in the use of the Patient Transport system.
