About The Position

The Radiology Systems Analyst Principal functions independently, directing the activity of the Analyst I, II and III roles. They play an active role in mentoring and coaching all Radiology Analyst team members, and act in the role of Operations or Systems Manager as needed. They are responsible for guiding and influencing the design and build of Radiology systems and for using the tools that administer them, to promote efficient workflows for Radiologists and Radiology Technologists, to be responsive and proactive in the management of data and image integrity, and to be effective in the use of technology for order, image, and clinical reporting. The role requires an understanding of PACS system application and technology platform, PACS system administration industry administration standards, dictation and voice recognition technologies and how they interface with PACS and RIS, RIS technologies, and radiologist and radiology technologist workflows and practices. This role assists in interpreting business needs and requirements and translate those needs into the development and/or enhancement of technologies. In addition, this role provides analytical expertise to information systems end users with the overall objective of improving the use of technology functionality, i.e. enhance work flow, optimize business processes and identify appropriate systems solutions. This department works approximately 80% remotely, 20% on site in our Philadelphia office on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, IS, Business or Health and / or Radiological Sciences of related fields Required
  • At least five (5) years information systems or Radiology PACS services experience and Healthcare experience Required
  • At least four (4) years hardware and software implementation, network infrastructure or project management Required
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of EPIC and EMR (Required proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of radiology computer systems, applications and interfaces
  • Exhibits ability to gather the appropriate data and devise solutions to client issues and problems, and prepares written documentation in support of systems enhancements and replacements
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the CHOP Radiology business functions
  • Communicates effectively with clients, colleagues and management
  • Employs comprehensive analytical skills to define system information requirements and objectives for system, application, and interface maintenance or enhancement requests and communicate to clients and programmer/ build staff
  • Directs in support of team initiatives
  • Support and maintain all existing radiology applications (Powerscribe, Hyland Acuo, Visage, etc. and all internal and external PACS storage systems) and all other applications as assigned
  • Maintain and support all desktop, offsite locations and At Home machines for clinical staff
  • Provides project support when necessary; develops, implements, documents and validates comprehensive test plans of relevant application components and related interfaces, facilitates testing
  • Performs routine operational support defined in departmental operating procedures including error log management, telemedicine process oversight, maintenance activities, performance monitoring, and system configuration (laptop and workstations)
  • Performs administration and user provisioning activities
  • Follows departmental change control standards and reports changes to appropriate personnel
  • Participates in the system selection process, including needs assessment, RFP and vendor selection
  • Understands and complies with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards
  • Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CHOP information
  • Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information
  • May be required to represent Radiology Informatics and/or present to various Hospital Clinical and/or Operations committees
  • This position will work closely with IS Project Managers and IS Analysts to ensure data integrity and system compliance of all departmental radiology information systems within the CHOP standard of care
  • Works closely with vendor’s service personnel in monitoring network traffic and study storage and retrieval from short and long-term archival and establishes proactive solutions; serves as the liaison with vendors for questions, issues, implementation, and operational audits
  • Responsible for coordinating the PACS super users and trainers, as well as scheduling training for new medical, technical and clerical staff and to conduct periodic review sessions on utilization of the PACS
  • Identifies areas of improvement for user community and maintains an overview of state-of-the-art computer solutions and networks
  • Other job requirements as needed to support the Radiology department and mission
