About The Position

This role is for current Radiologic Technology students that want to get real-world experience in the areas leading Radiology Department. Come support our team and Grow at Ellis! The primary function is to provide efficient inpatient, outpatient, and ED patient throughput in all areas of the Radiology department to include but not limited to Ultrasound, CT, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI. This individual will ensure a safe patient environment with visual patient observation, coordinating arrivals and returns according to patient needs and medical condition. This individual will be responsible for all requests, both to and from the Radiology Department. The Supervisors of each modality will provide ancillary support and direction for the daily workflow and communicate any specific requests or concerns. An integral component consists of strong, interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaboration with support services, physicians, technologists, patients, and families. Technical tasks involve utilizing computer skills and a multi-line phone efficiently on an ongoing basis. Candidates will also participate in the registration and check-in process of outpatient exams as well as obtaining proper prescriptions and approvals for such exams. Candidates will possess strong HIPAA knowledge and practice skills. Observes patients and reports to Radiologic Technologists any observations related to the patient. Assist technologists with patient transfers and patient positioning. Provides directions on having patients change for required exams. Stock linen in all departments, remove soiled linen. Stock supplies in exam rooms Transport ED patients and inpatients to and from radiology modalities when needed. Check-in and registration of patients as needed on a rotational basis. Excellent person-to-person skills, including verbal and non-verbal interactions. Adaptability with day-to-day changes to meet departmental needs. Ability to multitask Optimization of outpatient schedules with the assistance of Supervisors and Technologists Cross-training for interdepartmental efficiencies is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technologist program REQUIRED.
  • Strong HIPAA knowledge and practice skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with other members of staff and patients.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hospital functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Previous background in healthcare with hands-on patient contact and patient care experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of a Radiology Department is a plus.
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
