Radiology Support Technician - Weekend

About The Position

Performs a variety of support functions to facilitate the delivery of services to radiology patients while following radiation-safety guidelines. Provides a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction. This is an onsite weekend position at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hellertown, scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than one year of experience in a customer-service role.
• Ability to display a compassionate, positive, and upbeat disposition when interacting with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to multitask.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for Pennsylvania within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Confirm physician orders are complete, including the signature, ordered study, reason for the test, and diagnosis/CPT codes; obtain missing information before treatment.
• Coordinate daily work duties and communicate necessary information.
• Document LMP, fluoroscopy time, radiologist, appropriate history, and other required information.
• Confirm supplies and equipment are available to meet patient-care and department requirements.
• Maintain accurate database information and perform clerical and computer functions that support patient care.
• Ensure safe and efficient patient movement and transportation within, to, and from departments.
• Ensure images have crossed into PACS before completing a study.
• Perform registrations as required.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness in the immediate work area.
