Requirements

• Two (2) years experience as a scheduler or other related experience.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience in healthcare or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience in managing department operations including training, supervision, budgeting, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in medical insurance, managed care, and medical billing processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of a computerized scheduling system and related trouble-shooting, maintenance, and repair activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the scheduling of all radiology procedures for the Atlanta, Forsyth, and Cherokee Hospitals as well as all outpatient facilities.
• Manages insurance precertification and Medicare compliance activities for all PET scans, add-on procedures, physician office requests, and other procedures as needed.
• Coordinates activities with Patient Access, Business Office, and Radiology supervisors.
• Acts as a liaison to physician offices, patients, managed care agencies, and other hospital personnel.
