About The Position

The Diagnostic Radiology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing imaging procedures, ensuring safe preparation, monitoring, recovery, and coordination of care across the peri-procedural continuum.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C., or eligible.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or radiation therapy.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Previous experience in radiation therapy nursing is preferred
  • Advanced certification in Oncology Nursing (e.g., OCN, AOCN).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after radiology procedures.
  • Administer medications and contrast agents as necessary.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
  • Educate patients and their families about the procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.
