Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Registration and current RN Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in good standing is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in radiology or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in radiology nursing (e.g., CRN) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical history and current health status.
  • Evaluate patients' emotional and physical needs prior to procedures.
  • Prepare patients for various imaging procedures (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs).
  • Educate patients and families about the procedures and any necessary preparations.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and reactions during procedures.
  • Administer medications and contrast agents as prescribed.
  • Work closely with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families to address concerns and provide support.
  • Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications.
  • Ensure patients are stable and ready for discharge, providing follow-up instructions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in radiology nursing.
  • Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
