Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).
Registration and current RN Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in good standing is required.
BLS and ACLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in radiology or a related field preferred.
Certification in radiology nursing (e.g., CRN) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical history and current health status.
Evaluate patients' emotional and physical needs prior to procedures.
Prepare patients for various imaging procedures (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs).
Educate patients and families about the procedures and any necessary preparations.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and reactions during procedures.
Administer medications and contrast agents as prescribed.
Work closely with radiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Communicate effectively with patients and families to address concerns and provide support.
Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications.
Ensure patients are stable and ready for discharge, providing follow-up instructions as necessary.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in radiology nursing.
Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
