About The Position

Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is comprised of over 100 radiologists, most of whom are fellowship-trained in their field of specialty. RIA is dedicated to accurate and efficient patient diagnosis and partners with primary care physicians and hospitals across Colorado and Hawaii. The current RPA/RRA team covers more than 20 clinical sites and performs more than 40 different clinical exams. This role involves patient management, performing hospital fluoroscopy examinations and procedures under radiologist supervision, maintaining sterile technique, evaluating image quality, and communicating observations to the supervising radiologist. The position requires a strong understanding of ALARA principles, patient safety, and extensive protocols for both adult and pediatric patients. The RPA/RRA will also be responsible for assessing and evaluating the patient's physiological and psychological responsiveness.

Requirements

  • ARRT registered radiologic technologist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred
  • Must have excellent working relationships with physicians, patients, and hospital staff
  • Documentation of clinical experience and RPA/RRA competency
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Graduate of ARRT approved RRA program with current ARRT RRA certification or successful completion of a Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) program with current RPA registration with the CBRPA
  • Current ACLS/BLS certification
  • Meets current continuing education requirements to maintain ARRT/CBRPA certification
  • Maintain values congruent with the Code of Ethics as well as adhering to national, institutional and /or departmental standards, policies and procedures regarding the standards of care for patients
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English

Responsibilities

  • Take a leading role in patient management and assessment
  • Verifies order for appropriateness

  • Acts as liaison between radiologist and ordering provider

  • Organizes daily patient schedule (with multiple sites when necessary)

  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills i.e.: emergency situations, critical patients
  • Knowledge of extensive protocol (adult and pediatric)
  • Follows medication guidelines and protocols
  • Assess and evaluate the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient
  • Responsible for evaluating image quality, making initial image observations, and communicating those observations to the supervising radiologist
