About The Position

Radiology/Patient Care Technician – Radiology Department. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial: 800 W. Randol Mill Road Arlington, TX 76012. Work hours: Full Time 32 hours; 2pm-10:30pm Flexible Days. Department highlights: Team based environment, Workplace culture 2nd to none, Fast paced department with average of 300 patients per day, Full-service department to include CT, Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • CNA - Certified Nurses Aide upon hire required
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Health Information or Health Related field preferred
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred upon hire required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred upon hire required
  • LMRT- Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred upon hire required
  • NCT Non-Certified Radiology Technician preferred upon hire required
  • Patient Care / Transport experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies) to ensure radiology suite is in working order and ready to use to reduce patient risk.
  • Reviews physician orders and exam requisitions to ensure the continuity of patient care.
  • Obtains patient history and determines appropriateness of exam in consultation/collaboration with radiologic technologist.
  • Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID to identify correct patient and exam by checking DOB and ID number; verifing accuracy of exam and relevant clincal information.
  • Provides psychosocial care of the patient, to meet the age specific needs for body image, relationships and communication styles; as well as, physiologic and developmental norms for patients age groups.
  • Operates, cares for and maintains relevant equipment to provide proper utilization.
  • Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction to ensure timely repairs and patient safety.
  • Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards to maintain a safe environment and follow infection control standards.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards to maintain quality and safety to the public.
  • Maintains technical skills and technology advancement to enhance professional contributions to department.
  • Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication for the well being and safety of patient.
  • Flexible with schedules and workload assignments in order to facilitate quality patient care and the needs of the department.
  • Organizes flow of work.
  • Initiates follow up action.
  • Under limited supervision, prioritizes and handles many tasks/problems simultaneously, resolving moderately difficult problems and assisting with special projects.
  • Relieves management of daily operational issues by responding to mail or telephone inquiries or seeking the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Performs simple research, data collection and/or data entry into database.
