About The Position

Johnson Memorial Health is seeking a Radiology Office Supervisor to plan, coordinate, assign, and oversee the duties of radiology clerical staff. This role involves managing personnel requirements, including job descriptions, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, continuing education, and proficiency testing to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The supervisor will also be responsible for employee selection, orientation, training, and review, ensuring consistent application of departmental and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) policies. This position functions as a resource to staff, coordinates non-technical operations and workflow, and actively participates in Performance Improvement initiatives and cost containment efforts. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in administering PACS and other imaging resources, scheduling patients, generating exam orders, and utilizing hospital and radiology information systems. The supervisor will also order supplies for clerical needs and perform other duties as required, all while supporting the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health and complying with all applicable laws and policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of post high school secretarial training or related experience required.
  • Training for computer systems, operational procedures provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal medical terminology program is preferred.
  • Previous experience in radiology or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, assigns, and oversees radiology clerical staff duties.
  • Maintains personnel requirements in collaboration with the department manager, including job descriptions, performance appraisals, disciplinary action, continuing education, and proficiency testing.
  • Provides employee selection, orientation, training, and review.
  • Ensures consistent application of all departmental and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) policies.
  • Functions as a resource to staff.
  • Complies with all department expectations and policy and procedures.
  • Coordinates the non-technical operations and workflow per department guidelines.
  • Recommends and/or initiates suggestions for improvement of departmental operations and/or services provided.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Works well with others and is supportive of team efforts.
  • Provides quality service to all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates responsibility in accepting work assignments.
  • Administers PACS and other imaging resources to ensure patient exams (images) and reports are accurately stored and easily accessible.
  • Schedules patients for special procedures and generates orders for exams.
  • Utilizes hospital and radiology information system pertaining to job specific functions.
  • Assists in cost containment and equipment evaluation.
  • Orders supplies for clerical needs.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.
  • Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
