About The Position

Provide advanced diagnostic imaging services while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care throughout the imaging process. This role performs specialized imaging procedures, administers contrast media, operates advanced imaging equipment, and collaborates with radiologists and healthcare providers to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. The position also provides clinical leadership, mentors students and team members, supports departmental projects, and serves as a resource for patient care, safety, and imaging excellence.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • Two to four years of experience as a technologist as a Radiographer is required.
  • ARRT registered in Radiography required; the CT credential is required within two years of hire
  • IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
  • WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin
  • BLS/CPR required within 90 days of hire
  • Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).
  • Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.
  • Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hospital environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains active status in the modalities in which they practice.
  • Assists the department coordinator by providing clinical leadership, completes projects, advanced level clinical duties and regular assignments as requested.
  • Is competent in all exams performed within the assigned modalities.
  • Corroborates patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.
  • Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary.
  • Practices aseptic technique as necessary.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access.
  • Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
  • Provides patient education.
  • Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, maintains control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.
  • Provides practical instruction for students and partners.
  • Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.
  • Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
  • Other duties, tasks as assigned.
