About The Position

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a 273-bed acute care facility, is seeking a Radiology Technologist for its Bridge Program to Multi-Modality. This role assists physicians by performing radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties in patient care. The technologist works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians, contributing to the daily operations of the Radiology department. The position is located at the ER @ Sweetwater and operates on a Saturday-Monday schedule from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Requirements

Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training.
BLS certification (or obtained within 90 days of employment).
Current ARRT registration or registration eligible with successful completion within 90 days.
Current South Carolina license or Temporary B license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.

Responsibilities

Prepares room, equipment, contrast media, and materials for procedures.
Maintains a clean and stocked X-Ray procedure room daily.
Warms X-Ray equipment daily and ensures it is functioning properly, notifying appropriate personnel if issues arise.
Prepares patients for X-ray procedures by explaining the process, transferring them to the examination table, positioning them correctly, and assisting them post-procedure.
Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies their availability for interpretation in a timely manner.
Performs general clerical and transportation duties as needed to support the department's workload.
Practices patient care according to ARMC policy.
Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes films as requested.
Demonstrates knowledge of the proper sequence for scheduling exams within the Radiology department.
Considers age-related factors when obtaining images or performing diagnostic/therapeutic imaging studies, applying this knowledge to patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Regularly accepts additional work during periods of low patient activity and shows a willingness to assist others within the department.
Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, procedures, and customer relations information.
Implements radiation safety procedures when working with radiation-producing equipment.
Ensures adherence to the measurements described in the Universal Protocol policy.
Ensures patient charges are given to the appropriate person for entry into the EHR in a timely and accurate manner.
Assists physicians in responding to and managing emergency situations.
Operates portable X-Ray and C-Arm machines for imaging in inpatient and operating room settings.
Attends all monthly staff meetings unless absent or excused by the Radiology Supervisor.
Obtains and correctly documents verbal and telephone orders per facility policy (for ARRT licensed staff only).
Rotates to other imaging departments as needed.
Participates in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
