About The Position

Performs Screening mammography exams by positioning breasts, adjusting compression mechanisms, instructing patients to hold their breath, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Activates equipment to acquire images, releases compression mechanisms, and prepares for the next positioning and view while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Obtains and reviews medical histories, discusses concerns, and answers questions related to the procedure. Analyzes images to assess quality, identifies abnormalities, and makes necessary adjustments for optimal imaging. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate interpretations and deliver thorough reports. Practices ALARA and applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure. Maintains accurate patient records, ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines and healthcare standards. Performs daily quality control on mammography equipment, maintains QC logs, and troubleshoots equipment issues, promptly reporting malfunctions. Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the procedure room and equipment, following infection control protocols. Continuously expands knowledge and stays up-to-date with advancements in mammography techniques and equipment. Performs other technical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved radiologic technology program.
  • Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) registration in good standing.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • 2+ years of dedicated experience as a Technologist in Mammography and DEXA.
  • Must be a compassionate and effective communicator with strong tact, diplomacy, and a commitment to a collegial work environment.
  • Readiness to tackle the challenges of a fast-paced, evolving clinical environment.
  • To practice in California, candidates must meet specific California Department of Public Health (CDPH) – Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) requirements.
  • California CRT: Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certificate in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology.
  • California Mammography Certification: Valid California Mammography Technologist Certificate.
  • Must maintain 24 Category A CE credits every two years, including at least 15 credits specifically in Mammography (as required by MQSA/RHB).
  • An obsession with detail and image quality.
  • A drive to meet the highest clinical standards in a boutique, "member-first" setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical School Diploma preferred.
  • Preferred ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry (BD).

  • Performs other technical duties as assigned.
