About The Position

This is a contract position for a CT Technologist at SMH Allied Level 2, working weekend overnights in Rochester, New York. The role involves performing CT scans, coordinating with physicians, preparing patients, inserting IVs, and maintaining accurate patient records. The technologist must ensure patient safety, explain procedures, and handle patients with limited mobility using safe techniques. Maintaining a clean and safe scanning environment is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Must be currently registered in NYS with injection therapy certification stated on the license
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position)
• Two (2) years experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center Experience
• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Telemetry

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
• Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
• Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
