The Radiologist Assistant will support diagnostic imaging procedures and provide excellent patient care. They will assist with performing radiologic exams, preparing and monitoring patients, documenting clinical information, and ensuring high-quality imaging results while maintaining radiation safety and healthcare compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Graduation from an accredited RRA/RPA formal education program
  • Registered as a Radiologist Assistant by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Licensed as a Radiologist Assistant in the State of Massachusetts
  • Advanced knowledge of MRI imaging procedures
  • Patient assessment and clinical history review
  • Radiation safety and protection protocols
  • Clear Understanding of Imaging modalities
  • Image quality evaluation and optimization
  • Excellent Communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
  • Attention to detail and the ability to critically think
  • Understanding of HIPPA and patient confidentiality
  • Ability to work with a team and collaborate with Radiologists and technologists

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide excellent patient care.
  • Under the direct supervision and guidance of a radiologist, perform various diagnostic radiology procedures/exams.
  • Administers and/or orders intravenous medication and contrast media, under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • Evaluates medical images, reviews preliminary reports and images with a supervising Radiologist.
  • Dictates technical reports that will be reviewed and signed off by the supervising Radiologist.
  • Verify and review referring clinician's order prior to performing exam and determine appropriateness of exam/procedure ordered.
  • Reviews images and provides feedback of studies performed by the supervising radiologist.
  • Responsible for gaining consents for procedures, pre/post procedure order-writing, and dictating in PACS.
  • Must be proficient in performing arthrograms.
