About The Position

The Radiology Assistant supports technologists with patient care in the radiology department, including assisting and transporting patients, helping with exam completion, maintaining patient safety and quality, and supervising patients. The role also helps manage imaging department patient flow and works under the direction of technologists or radiologists. This is a part-time position working Saturdays and Sundays in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Requirements

High school education, GED, or equivalent.
Experience in a hospital setting.
Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and squat; stand or walk for most of the workday; and lift packages weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to maintain close attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience working with physicians or providers, medical practice office staff, a hospital, or other medical specialties.

Responsibilities

Safely transport and assist patients between departments and waiting areas.
Help patients move between wheelchairs, exam tables, stretchers, and toilets as needed.
Provide direct patient care as directed by technologists or radiologists in conjunction with imaging procedures.
Review physician orders, research laboratory values, and provide patient education as directed by technologists.
Help manage patient flow in the imaging department.
Become familiar with department computer systems and programs under the supervision of technologists.
Adhere to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
Clean and disinfect equipment and exam rooms according to infection control guidelines, and keep stretchers and wheelchairs clean.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
