About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Radiology Assistant to provide quality patient care and support general, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, CT, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology technologists. The role handles film filing, image management, and general clerical duties related to radiology records. It works with departments, patients, and providers to ensure images and reports are available in the EMR and PACS. The assistant may also help provide diagnostic radiographic procedures according to established standards and guidelines.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a healthcare setting; on-the-job training will be provided.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Support radiology technologists across general imaging, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, CT, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology.
Perform image management functions in PACS, including order entry, image reconciliation, and importing or exporting imaging exams and reports.
Perform reception, clerical, and filing duties, including adding reports to patient charts and locating, retrieving, and delivering patient records.
Work with departments, patients, and providers to ensure imaging and reports are available in the EMR and PACS.
Use the EMR to view imaging history and document the release of imaging exams.
Work with Health Information Management (HIM) to release imaging records in accordance with established HIPAA rules and regulations.
Protect confidential patient information.
Provide department services to clinical and non-clinical personnel in a courteous manner.
Maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
May assist with diagnostic radiographic procedures according to standards and guidelines.
May perform mobile imaging bone density testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
