About The Position

Monitors and assists patients during their visit to the General Diagnostic Radiology Section for Radiology procedures. Requirements

  • Monitors patients while they wait in the waiting areas for diagnostic x-ray procedure testing (e.g., O2 levels, infusion pumps, IV’s)
  • Assists patients with undressing, dressing and toiletry needs when necessary.
  • Transports patients within the department and to their nursing units when necessary
  • Changes patient O2 tanks when needed.
  • Notifies Respiratory Department when O2 tanks need replacing.
  • Monitors patient wait times; notifies floor coordinator and/or the department supervisor when a patient wait time is excessive according to departmental standards.
  • Notifies and assists nursing personnel when nursing services are required.
  • Issues warm blanket to patients when needed.
  • Confirms all patient appointments for Radiology at Koch and manages worklist
  • Conducts daily inventory of equipment and supplies to determine need for replenishment. Rotates and restocks as needed.
  • Stocks shelves and supply cabinets in a neat organized manner to insure easy access; never stores items on the floor.
  • Checks all items received from suppliers for accuracy (i.e. type of item and amount) against order form; reports any discrepancies to Supervisor; gives all receipts and invoices to Supervisor.
  • Unpacks and sorts incoming sterile equipment and supplies
  • Stores all items in designated space according to type of item.
  • Identifies all depleted or outdated items. Removes outdated or damaged supplies.
  • Informs Supervisor of broken or missing equipment.
  • Monitors shelf level of pharmacy items, restocks as needed. Reports any unusual use or loss of pharmacy items to Supervisor. Fills order at pharmacy, restocks area, stores reserve in secure area.
  • Remove soiled linen daily.
  • Maintains neat, clean work area. Stores all supplies in an orderly fashion to assure easy access by staff.
  • Maintains the outpatient dressing areas to assure that the dressing rooms arc cleaned and/or daily stocked with patient gowns.
  • Ensures that magazines and other reading materials are returned to their racks and/or neatly arranged on the table.
  • Maintains the non-food department refrigerator in a clean and orderly manner. Ensures that the required temperature level is maintained.
  • Inspects areas under sinks to ensure that the hospital requirements for storing items are in compliance.
  • Keep the blanket warmer equipment free of dust and other debris.
  • Uses appropriate computer form to order supplies from General Stores.
  • Uses appropriate form to order supplies. Fills out forms completely in clear legible writing, obtains signature from Manager.
  • Enters orders correctly based on unit of issue to meet inventory needs.
  • Submits order within required timeframe to ensure delivery schedule.
  • Follows up on all incorrectly filled items.
  • Informs Supervisor of all supplies needed from outside vendors.
