About The Position

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by assisting technologists and support functions in an effort optimizing the efficiency of the radiology operations. This staff position will have an impact on the patient experience by minimizing wait times and ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.
May be required to wear a beeper while at work
Required to regularly rotate through day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts as necessary
May be scheduled at any of the imaging locations/departments

Nice To Haves

Students enrolled in an accredited imaging program
Prior in healthcare, a clerical role and/or other positions with a strong customer service element

Responsibilities

Assesses waiting room status regularly, liaisons with patients to ensure comfort and wait-time satisfaction.
Serves as a resource person by providing appropriate information and assistance to patients, families and visitors to improve their overall experience in the imaging department(s.)
Greets, transports and/or escorts, educates and identifies patients making the patients feel welcomed and comfortable and fulfilling all safety and quality checks.
Assists the technologists in preparing the patient for an exam, including but not limited to assisting in lifting and moving patients.
Provide ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
Has access to and may transport medication to support the department.
Keeps department clean, free of obstacles and stocked in adequate supplies and linen.
Handles various imaging-related documentation including but not limited to labels, requisitions, orders, daily reports, logs, and PACS as required by site.
Performs other administrative functions as needed to ensure the department runs smoothly, efficiently and seamlessly to the patients.
Registers patients for imaging exams (off site locations).
