About The Position

This associate-level locum position offers the opportunity to provide diagnostic imaging interpretation and clinical expertise within a medical practice. The Radiologist supports patient care by delivering accurate and timely interpretations of medical imaging studies, collaborating with referring physicians, and contributing to the quality of diagnostic services. The position is contract-based and can be performed onsite or remotely. Day and swing shifts are available. Skillsets include diagnostic radiology (DX) and light interventional radiology (IR). Board certification is required.

Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted MD or DO medical license to practice in Virginia.
• Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required; the posting also lists board eligibility as a requirement.
• Completion of a radiology residency program.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities and interpretation techniques.
• Proficiency with PACS and radiology information systems.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with referring physicians.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work independently in a contract, onsite setting.

Nice To Haves

• Prior locum or contract experience in radiology.
• Familiarity with teleradiology workflows and multi-site practice environments.

Responsibilities

• Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
• Provide timely and accurate radiology reports with clear clinical impressions.
• Communicate critical or unexpected findings promptly to referring physicians.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain compliance with radiology protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure accurate documentation within electronic health record systems.
• Adapt to varying case volumes and practice workflows as a locum provider.
